Virtual reality, smell test or coin minting. Children’s Day at the USB campus attracted hundreds of visitors

On Friday, 29 May, the campus of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice came alive with children’s laughter, games, and a wide range of activities. Children’s Day was jointly organized by the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology, the Faculty of Education, and the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences. The event attracted an exceptionally large number of visitors, with families and children of all ages enjoying the programme throughout the afternoon.

The Faculty of Economics prepared a variety of activities designed to introduce the worlds of economics, travel, and modern technology in an entertaining way. Children had the opportunity to experience virtual reality, test their knowledge in an economics quiz, and match countries with their currencies and typical spices. A cryptography-themed game also proved popular, challenging participants to solve a puzzle and unlock a secret box.

Another favourite attraction at the Faculty of Economics stand was table hockey, alongside a relaxation zone equipped with deck chairs and blankets where children and their parents could enjoy the sunny afternoon in the pleasant atmosphere of the university campus.

A brand-new attraction made its debut during the event: the Faculty of Economics’ coin minting machine. This novelty quickly became one of the most visited stations of the day, allowing children to create and take home a commemorative coin as a unique souvenir of their visit to the University of South Bohemia.

Thanks to the cooperation of the four faculties, the event offered dozens of activity stations focused on entertainment, education, and practical skills. Visitors could enjoy science experiments, creative workshops, virtual reality experiences, a drone flight simulator, robotic technologies, and first aid demonstrations. The crowded campus and the smiles of both children and adults provided clear evidence of another successful Children’s Day celebration at the University of South Bohemia.
