Invest Day Showcased Student Business Ideas and the Investment Potential of Young Teams
On May 22, 2026, the final round of the Invest Day competition took place at the Faculty of Economics of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, bringing together students, entrepreneurial ideas, and industry experts. Organized in cooperation with University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, the competition provided a platform for presenting innovative projects before an expert jury and professionals from practice.
A total of nine projects participated in the final round, representing the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň, and also the Business Academy Husova 1, which regularly contributes innovative ideas from students who are just beginning to explore the possibilities of entrepreneurship.
The aim of the Invest Day competition is to support entrepreneurship, develop students’ presentation skills, and provide them with valuable feedback from industry professionals. At the same time, the competition helps students learn how to present their ideas to potential investors, defend their economic value, and transform their concepts into realistically achievable projects. Throughout the summer semester, participants also attended workshops focused on marketing, economic aspects of entrepreneurship, and trademark protection.
During the final event, individual teams and participants presented their projects to an expert jury, which evaluated innovation, sustainability, overall quality, and presentation skills.

Invest Day has long supported cooperation between universities, strengthened connections between academia and practice, and motivated students to develop their own entrepreneurial activities. The competition also demonstrates that high-quality and innovative ideas emerge already during studies and can have real market potential. The Faculty of Economics of the University of South Bohemia is proud to support emerging projects not only through workshops and presentation opportunities, but also through financial rewards and project implementation. One example is the Káves coffee vending machines, which are now located in both buildings of the Faculty of Economics USB.
