The Department of Languages is responsible for providing all language instruction for students of all majors and years of study at the Faculty of Economics of the University of South Bohemia. The department offers instruction in English, German, Russian, French, Italian and Spanish, and it also provides other services (translations, proofreading, preparation of study programs in foreign languages, etc.) according to the faculty’s needs.

The Department of Languages is responsible for providing all language instruction for students of all majors and years of study at the Faculty of Economics of the University of South Bohemia. The department offers instruction in English, German, Russian, French, Italian and Spanish, and it also provides other services (translations, proofreading, preparation of study programs in foreign languages, etc.) according to the faculty’s needs.
The language course programs correspond to the levels in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The department provides all instruction at a lower-intermediate or intermediate levels (B1 / B2) for Bachelor-degree students, so that students can build on the basics from their secondary schools. Master-degree students are offered courses at an upper-intermediate level (B2 / C1). Upon completion of obligatory language courses students receive documents proving their language proficiency. These documents can be used for studies at partner universities, within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, or later when looking for a future job.
Before starting language studies, students are offered to test their language skills using sample ‘entry tests’ listed for each language.
