Teaching in English attracts talented students from all over the world
The Faculty of Economics of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice has long been strengthening its position as an institution that combines modern economic education and technologies with an international environment. This is proven by the ever-growing interest of foreign students who choose the Faculty of Economics for its high-standard teaching and individual approach.
Students from France, Spain, Portugal, but also from Colombia and Taiwan participate in English-taught courses in the academic year 2025/2026. Their interest has been sparked, among other things, by the success of the innovative E-business course guaranteed by Ing. Jiří Sláma, Ph.D.
International teams, modern topics, real-life projects
During the winter semester, the students worked in international teams and created projects that reflect the current trends in digital economy:
· ARTEM – fashion accessories made from recycled materials, with an emphasis on sustainability and online sales.
· GELIG – digitalization of the sales of premium-quality greenhouses with professional installation.
· Haiflow – an elegant solution for fast creation of professional websites.
· WhatTheFit – an AI application for personalized outfit design.
These projects are united by a clear orientation towards digital services, e-commerce and modern online business, which are the core of the current global economic environment.
Presentations in front of experts from practice
The final presentations took place on 10 December 2025 with the participation of Ing. Lenka Housková, a graduate of the Faculty of Economics and a senior tax advisor at the auditing firm BDO, and Mgr. Vladimír Kadlec, Vice-dean for International Relations. Direct expert feedback from practice underlined the quality of teaching and the professionalism of student outputs.
We will continue in the summer semester
Some of the international students will continue with their education at our faculty in the summer semester as well – this time in the Web Design course, which is led by Ing. Josef Pavlíček, Ph.D. His teaching combines the technical precision of software engineering with a creative overlap that is crucial for digital economy today.
