University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice celebrates 25th anniversary of its foundation and prepares its birthday in the campus.
Exactly twenty five years ago a law establishing the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice was passed with effect symbolically from 28 September 1991. The University will commemorate that significant event on Saturday, October 8, when there is prepared a Day with the University for the general public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the campus. Visitors can use guided tours and explore for example the library, halls of residence, student club, college radio or microbrewery. They can also see, for example, even the Rector´s office. In the foyer of the Rectorate / Faculty of Philosophy there will be an exhibition “A Quarter century of the University of South Bohemia”, which traces the history of the South Bohemian school education and the university. The event begins at 10 a.m. by a university breakfast, it is also prepared a gastro-festival of exotic dishes during the day. Children can look forward to competitions and favourite popularizing workshops with physical and chemical experiments, the smallest ones will enjoy a bouncy castle or an animation corner. Musical accompaniment throughout the day will be procured by the band Jazzika. Finally, there is prepared an evening Czech film the Theory of a tiger.
