Students spent two days on a study trip to Linz

Students of the study programme Management of Commerce spent two days, the 24th and 25th November 2016, on a study trip to Linz, the capital of Upper Austria. The trip was organized for students studying the subjects Destination Management and Marketing and Marketing Tools in Tourism. Teaching in both subjects is undertaken using project form.

During the trip, the students got to know the system of running the regional airport in Linz, and learnt what the marketing of the city of Linz and the federal country Upper Austria is like. The first morning they took part in a workshop where the director of communication and PR of Blue Danube Airport, Ingo Hagendorn, the deputy of the Oberosterreich Tourismus, Jitka Zikmundová, and the director of the organisation Destination Management of Linz Tourismus Georg Steiner, gave speeches. After the workshop, students looked round the premises of the airport. In the afternoon they visited the exhibition of the ARS Electronica Centre. In the evening they had the possibility to see a performance in the Musiktheater Linz or to take part in a guided tour of the centre of the town.

On the second day, guided tours of the  Musiktheater Linz and the Visitor´s Centre Stahlwelt were organized for all the students.

Students will use the information gathered on the study trip for working on this semester's projects whose topics had been given by partners from Upper Austria -  Oberosterreich Tourismus, Linz Tourismus, Blue Danube Airport Linz and Musiktheater Linz.
