Delegation of a Chinese university visited the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice

On Monday 28th May, at 4pm, the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice had the honor to receive the visit of representants of Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (SLUAF).

The delegation, led by the Vice-President, Dr. Wan Fengem, first visited the Faculty of Economics and then, at 5pm, the delegation met the Rector of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, doc. Tomáš Machula.

During the cordial discussion, that followed the presentation of both universities, participants agreed on the benefits of mutual exchanges of students and academics. The Vice-President Wan Feng especially highlighted the possibility of short and long-term internships for young PhD students at Shanghai University. After the discussion, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was officially signed, which confirms the mutual cooperation of both universities and brings better opportunities in the field of student and academic mobility in the future.

SLUAF was founded in 1928 and today, more than 20 000 students study in its three campuses.

The University of South Bohemia cooperates with almost 400 universities from about 70 countries.

Prof. James Sanford Rikoon, PhD., Doctor Honoris Causa in Management and Environmental Sociology

This is an enormous honor for the Faculty of Economics that Prof. James Sanford Rikoon has been awarded dr. h. c. mark of distinction. Professor James Sanford Rikoon will be the first proposed by the Faculty of Economics during the 10 years of its existence.

By decision of the Scientific Board of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice on 28th February 2018  and in accordance with Article 6 of the Statutes of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice

bestows upon

Prof. James Sanford Rikoon, PhD.,

a world renowned expert in the field of rural sociology, environmental sociology and social and economic problems of regional development

the title and rights of

Doctor Honoris Causa in Management and Environmental Sociology

for his lifelong work in the field

and for his personal contribution to the development of these disciplines at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice.

RECTOR'S DECISION ON THE CURRENT DEVELOPMENT OF THE CORONAVIRUS EPIDEMIC

In connection with the current guidelines issued by the National Security Council CZ, I define the following measures:

Study activities requiring students’ attendance at the USB premises are cancelled.

The same applies to CŽV courses including U3V and BC and GC educational activities.

USB Academic Library will be closed, including adjacent spaces.

The operation of the dormitories remains unchanged. We advise students from the Czech Republic to move to their place of residence for the period of cancelled teaching.

The operation of Menza is maintained but to a limited extent according to the current situation; serving hatches at FT and FHSS will be closed.

The operation of the children's group is maintained.

Employees – parents of children whose school and preschool facilities have been closed will be allowed to work from home during the closure period if their work description enables it.

Information on the issue of studies is provided by the faculty's study department, in case of questions, the study department turns to the Vice-Rector for Study Affairs (shifting of the terms relating to the study will be assessed according to the duration of this situation).

The measures are valid until further notice.
