Cíle předmětu (anotace)

Students complete the final state examination of three subjects - Development and Management of European and Regional Projects, Intercultural Co-operation and Projects within the EU, Socio-Economic Aspects of Regional and European Projects. The content of each SZZ course corresponds to the knowledge and skills and general competencies acquired within each semester at the respective partner universities. Students demonstrate the results of their studies through oral examinations, but also as part of a case study or other specific complex assignment.

Obsah

1. Regional and interregional cooperation
Positive and negative effects of cooperation; impact of culture of regions; cooperation in sustainability; indicators of sustainability of the regional development (weak and strong sustainability definition). Culture and landscape in interregional cooperation; landscape as ecological and symbolic phenomena.

2. Cross continental co-operation
Well-functioning, intended and problematic projects of cooperation; impact of cooperation on social and ecological conditions of the involved countries (export and import of sustainability); problem of globalization and localization from sociological point of view

3. Strategy Europe 2020
Priorities and targets; economic, social and territorial cohesion. Cultural roots of regional development and landscape perception and valuation of landscape, Cultural roots of European landscape perception; differences from other cultures; methods of non-market valuation (Contingent Valuation Method, Travel Costs Method or Hedonic Price Method hedonic method) and their use in regional development projects.

4. Endogenous preconditions of regional development
Ten golden rules of development. Role of cultural capital; a region's inhabitants, their characteristic and social life as a potential for regional development. European landscape changes and its social regional and local consequences. Landscape and Nature-Culture-Continuum. Land people and art (land-art) and its role in local identification with landscape.

5. Exogenous factors and preconditions of the regional development
External impacts (positive/negative) and support to the regional development. Exogenous risks and management of the risks. Economic growth of the region vs. potential of regional development. Aspects of requirements on sustainability. Degrowth movement.
Problem of modernity on the beginning of sociology. Rural sociology and its contemporary studies environment as a part of rural sociology

6. Supporting EU policies and programmes for regional development
Supporting policies and their main targets and objectives (European development policy, Regional policy, Regional investment policy, Regional policy priorities for 2014-2020, European structural and investment funds, ERDF, ESF, Cohesion Fund. Rural development 2014 2020, EAFRD. European Maritime & Fisheries Fund EMFF). Examples of supporting programmes related to these policies.

7. Changes in region objectives in projecting
Changes in region as a result of external and internal factors. Main challenges and forces and their valuation. Cost benefit analysis of the projects with and without environmental dimension, optimal level of pollution. Ongoing landscape changes and its driving forces.
Changes in our landscape perception evidence of landscape paintings. Social and demographic changes in Europe.


8. Abandoned regions from sociological, economics and environmental point of view.
Ongoing changes in European agricultural landscape brings the problem of abandoned regions or local places. Analyses of these places using the concept of sustainable development (SD). What is the problem of Sudeten land in CZ?

9. Relationships and tension between Rural and Urban in contemporary Europe.
Shift of the traditional concept of Rural culture rural area. Shift from the agriculture to the environmental function. Philosophy of regional development as production or protection?

10. Main problems of regional development in EU
Analyses based on the concept of SD three pillars environmental, economic and social. Notions of green growth and degrowth. Student's opinion. Preference to the type of growth in their respective country.

Differences between global and local point of view for application of bioeconomy? Potential of bioeconomy for regional development. Existence of national strategy for bioeconomy in student's co
