I am researcher in the Department of Regional Development. Apart from research and teaching, I am a member of Faculty Editorial board, Internal Grant Competition Committee and Platform for research discussion and I coordinate the seminars Pluralism in Economics. I also represent the Faculty of Economics in the network of Regional Centre of Expertise Czechia supervised by United Nations University and in the Editorial Board of the website CzechRural. Recently I became co-leader of the Environmental and Rural Sociology Section of Czech Sociological Society. I used to be organizer of annual interdisciplinary conference Our Common Present and discussion seminar Budějovice Economic Days.
The human-environment relationship from the viewpoint of social sciences, namely environmental and rural sociology, cultural ecology, and ecological economics. I focus mostly on the informal food production; agriculture; social perception of climate change and its consequences; energy demand and carbon footprint of households and society-environment interaction in general.
Currently, I am co-investigator of project focused on informal food production and Quiet sustainability (Czech Science Foundation) and I am member of research team of H2020 POWER4BIO project and Technology Agency of the Czech Republic funded project on sustainable deveIopment at local level. Additionally, I prepare pilot research of student's visions of sustainable future within COST Action European Network for Environmental Citizenship, in which I am a Member of Committee. I am co-editor of Speciall Issue of Sustainability focused on urban agriculture.
Recently, I participated in the international 7FP project GILDED focused on social, cultural and economci context of household energy consumption; COST Action project dealing with socio-economic aspects of sustainability using the example of Land, People and Art concept; project ALTEKO (Czech Science Foundation) investigating alternative economic initiatives; and I was principal investigator of project Socio-economic aspects of soil degradation funded through Internal Grant Competition of the Faculty of Economics, USB.
Currently, I participate in the teaching of courses Sociology (Bachelor) and Sociology and methodology of research (Master) in Czech language.
